Pre & Post Care Instructions

To achieve the best results, it is essential that you understand and follow the pre-care and after-care instructions.
Pre-care instructions
- Please make sure to bring a government issued photo ID to your appointment. Must be 18 years of age.
- Do not drink caffeine, alcohol or work out 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Do not take blood thinning medications (with consent from your physician) and supplements such as vitamin E, Fish Oil, aspirin, niacin, or ibuprofen 24 hours prior to appointment. Extra strength Tylenol can be taken if you have low pain tolerance.
- Avoid high vitamin supplements (i.e. power shakes/greens & "Hair, Skin, Nail" vitamins) 24 hours prior to appointment.
- Avoid intense tanning 1 week prior to your appointment.
- Discontinue Glycolics, Chemical Peels, Retin-A and any eyebrow growth serums 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
- Refrain from using any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products near brows 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after appointment.
- Check your moisturizer, facewash, BB/CC creams and makeup/primers for acid containing ingredients.
- If you use Botox, it should be performed 2 weeks prior to or 2 weeks after your appointment.
- WE DO NOT WORK ON ANYONE THAT IS PREGNANT OR STILL BREAST FEEDING, NO EXCEPTIONS
Post-care instructions
Day 1-10: Wash & Moisturize
Day 1:
Wash brows gently every hour with water and gentle soap (cetaphil preferred) and pat dry. Apply thin layer of skincandy on dry skin.
Day 2:
Do the same as Day 1 but only 2-3 times a day.
Day 3-10:
No more washing. Keep the brows as dry as you can. Apply skincandy 2-3 times a day if dry or normal skin or 1-2 times if oily skin.
Do NOT shower for 48 hours
After 48 hours, limit your showers and avoid steam. When showering, do not let water contact treated area for 10 days.
Important reminders
DO NOT put anything on brows & AVOID hot, sweaty exercise for 10 days.
DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area, allow natural exfoliation!
DO NOT use products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.
After the healing process is complete
After the scabbing has naturally exfoliated (approx. 10-14 days), use sunscreen on your brows in the sun.
Avoid using retinol, anti-aging, skin brightening or lightening properties near brows.
Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating properties on brows (around your brows is okay).
Contraindications
You may NOT have this procedure if any of the following apply:
- You are under the age of 18
- You get Keloid scars
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have been on Accutane within 1 year
- You have irritation of the skin of any kind such as blemishes, pimples, rash, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, sunburn on the area of procedure
- You are on Retin-A or Retinols. Be off 7 days before appointment and avoid 30 days after procedure.
- Diabetic (consult your doctor)
- Have HIV or Hepatitis or any other viral infections and/or diseases
- Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
- Epilepsy
- A Pacemaker or major heart problems
- Had an Organ transplant
- You generally don't heal well and develop infections easily
- If your old tattoo is too dark (please contact me to send a picture so I can see how faded your old tattoo is)
